Thank you for your interest in the SoCal Water$mart rebate program for residential water customers. (Residential water customers are those living in houses or apartments, townhomes, condominiums or mobile home complexes with less than five dwellings that are NOT represented by a homeowners association or property management company.)

On September 21, 2009, a limited number of rebates became available through the SoCal Water$mart program for Southern California residential water customers. Please note that funding is limited, and submission of a rebate application does not guarantee you will receive a rebate.  Rebates will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted.

A limited number of SoCal Water$mart rebates are available for specific high-efficiency devices inside your home and landscape irrigation devices and products for your yard. These devices include:

• High-efficiency clothes washers (limit one per address)
• High-efficiency toilets (no limit)
• Weather-based irrigation controllers, or “smart” controllers (limit one per address if landscape is less than one acre; no limit if larger than one acre)
• Rotating sprinkler nozzles, installation of pressure regulating head is required (no limit)
• Synthetic turf* (limit ½ acre)

*The synthetic turf rebate is not available in all areas, and requires that the local water agency match funding as a prerequisite. Click here to find out if it is available in your area.

For Los Angeles Department of Water & Power customers only, rebates currently are available for removal of turf grass.

There have been important changes to the terms and conditions of this program, so please read closely. Check this website regularly for program updates.

Terms and Conditions as of September 21, 2009:

• Funding is limited and submitting a rebate application does not guarantee you will receive a rebate. Rebates will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted.
• Purchases made prior to September 21, 2009, are ineligible for MWD rebates.
• Rebate applications are available online and may also be available at retail stores.
• Rebate reservations are not required.
• Only original receipts will be accepted as proof of purchase.
• Rebate applications and proof of purchase must be postmarked no later than 45 days after purchase.
• Some devices or products may no longer be eligible for rebate, and rebate amounts are subject to change.
• Rebate checks will be issued only to the residential water customer directly.
• The device(s) must be a program-qualifying model.
• Installation address must be in MWD’s service area.
• Rebate application is subject to verification of an accurately completed rebate application, including all necessary documentation including proof of purchase and is not guaranteed.
• Metropolitan reserves the right to verify and inspect rebated devices. If installation cannot be verified, the applicant must reimburse Metropolitan, including all associated processing costs.
• Rebate amounts may vary by local water agency and are subject to change without notice.
• Metropolitan and participating water agencies are not responsible for any taxes that may be imposed as a result of your receipt of the rebate.
• Metropolitan and participating water agencies make no representation or warranty relating to devices, including any hazardous substances that may be contained in them.
• Applicant waives and releases Metropolitan, participating water agencies, and their contractors or agents from any and all claims and causes of action arising out of the installation or use of this product.
