Applicant must install and activate device prior to submitting rebate application. Inspections may be performed to ensure the device has been installed and activated.
Your local water agency may add additional funding to increase the amount of the rebate for applicants in their service area. Your local water agency may also require additional approvals prior to and during the process. These devices are relatively new products. Research carefully to find the device that best fits your needs and budget.
Important notice for homes with automatic residential fire sprinklers: Improperly installing a leak detector device could hinder operation of fire sprinklers. Always ensure plumbed leak detection devices are installed only on the domestic water line after it diverts from the fire sprinkler system. Never install a leak detection device into your home’s main water service line upstream of the fire sprinkler system. Consult a licensed plumber for guidance.
Flow monitor devices manufacturers provide their own technical support for installation questions and technical challenges/support; neither Metropolitan, nor its representatives will provide technical support for the device.
If you have attempted to contact the device vendor multiple times and have had no response, please let us know, (888)376-3314
You will be billed for water consumption based only on measurements from the retail agency water meter. Flow monitor readings will sometimes not match the total monthly reads from the water meter, which are read in different units with read dates that may not coincide with the calendar month.
Applicant must be able to receive vendor notifications when sent through a mobile app. Feedback on the notifications is an important component. Applicant understands that if these messages are disabled, key information such as increases in water use, or leak detection can be missed.
